Dreamy Cannon Beach Engagement Session at Golden Hour

Some sessions feel like a long walk on the beach with friends, which is exactly what this golden hour dreamy one was. M & S knew from the start that their dog had to be part of their engagement photos, so we planned a sunny Oregon Coast evening that gave them room to play, explore, and soak up golden light together!

We met an hour or two before sunset, when the sun was still high but starting to soften. The beach gave us wide open space for running, playing fetch, and letting their pup zoom around while we warmed up with candid moments.

Once everyone (including the dog) settled in, we found pockets of light along the rocks and driftwood where M & S could slow down and just be together. They splashed around and enjoyed every beam of golden light as the sun set!

Yes, You Can Absolutely Bring Your Dog to Your Engagement Session

Choose a Dog-Friendly Beach

Many Oregon Coast beaches are dog-friendly as long as pups are leashed or under voice control. It’s always worth double-checking local rules for the stretch of beach you’re visiting.

Bring a Friend or Family Member

Having an extra set of hands makes a huge difference, especially if your pup needs a little extra attention. This way, you can get some good time with them and also some carefree time just the two of you in photos.

Pack Practical Extras

Think: water bowl, towel, treats, poop bags, and a simple neutral leash or harness that won’t distract from the photos.

Planning Your Own Oregon Coast Engagement Session

If you love the idea of toes in the sand, salty hair, and photos that feel more like an honest evening together than a posed session, the Oregon Coast is a perfect fit. We’ll choose a beach that matches your vibe—dramatic cliffs, open sand, dunes, or all of the above—and build a timeline around the best light.
